I was invited to be a part of a crew creating a documentary in memory of Juneteenth, in Galveston, TX, earlier in May. Such a documentary focused on the set of events that took place on June 19th, 1865, where a decree was signed into place to free the enslaved, becoming what is known as “Juneteenth” or America’s second independence.
