Perspective is in constant flux when traversing the Eureka Dunes, a 600 foot tall dune complex in the remote northern part of Death Valley. These Dunes form in the valley between towering mountain ranges constantly pushed and remade by strong winds.
The Ridges that form these strong lines are hundreds of feet apart, misleading many visitors into long hikes into steep valleys between - only to be forced into a half-hearted retreat when the opposing dune is too steep to climb!
