The cycle of life is ongoing and ever-changing from a state of balance to imbalance and back again. Each of these photographers brings us close to a singular moment in that continuum.

Rebirth

Since 2015, I’ve been aggressively pursuing storms that produce the most spectacular lightning and cloud structure. I survived being struck by lightning in 2001, and even though I suffered permanent short-term memory damage, it did not stop my love for nature’s ferocious skies. These limited editions have been held in my own vault for just the right time, and now is that time.

In my time in Web3, I’ve discovered that collectors come from all sorts of backgrounds, many who are friends, fellow photographers, and lovers of art. That’s why I’m providing this window of opportunity to collect some of the most important, dangerous work I’ve created.

High Voltage

Taken in Barrio de Jalatlaco, Oaxaca, Mexico, this series of images depict La Catrina who is an immortal icon for Dia de los Muertos. La Catrina came about via a famous Mexican illustrator, Jose Guadelupe Posada, who would create satirical illustrations depicting the times. The meaning behind his Calavera work was that we are all the same and will all end up dead eventually and turned into skulls. The original sketch came about in 1910 and was a satirical reference to the obsession of Europeans with Porfirio Diaz. He was extremely corrupt, and this lead to the Mexican Revolution of 1911 which toppled his regime. Diego Rivera later turned this work into a mural in Mexico City.

In today’s times, during Dia de los Muertos, many people, men, women, and children, dress up with elaborate skulls painted on their faces, and the women will often dress in elaborate dresses to depict Catrina. It’s a reminder that death should be celebrated and not feared.

Colores de Cuba - "Cuba Colors" is a series of 10 1/1 street photographs from Old Havana.

Have you visited Cuba before? With a welcoming culture and incredible opportunities to photograph everyday life, it was one of the most memorable trips of my life.

I enjoy searching for the perfect click or decisive moment, as Henri Cartier-Bresson defined it, and I felt like I was in a classic movie when I was in Old Havana. I used to get up early every morning before breakfast to go for a photo walk around the neighborhood. Without a plan, I got lost in the streets, being surprised by all kinds of stories and wonderful colors around every corner.

Colores de Cuba is the first series of the memories I'd like to share with you from my August 2016 trip to Cuba. Have a good time!

Sealife, or ocean life is the plants, animals, and other organisms that live in the saltwater of the sea or ocean. At a fundamental level, marine life affects the nature of planet.

This collection is an attempt to present a person - as part of a living system, part of the space ocean.

Look after your brothers and sisters. They need you.

We need each other.

Wonders Of The Deep

Gas and Glamour is a tribute to America’s golden age of the automobile, a time when cars themselves were objects of beauty and the act of driving was celebrated. Those cars are no longer on the streets today, but the celebratory roadside vernacular architecture from that era remains.

As a photographer, I wanted to connect with that lost design history and capture L.A.’s car-culture-induced optimism and ambition reflected in polychromatic, star-spangled coffee shops, gas stations, car washes, and other structures that once lured the gaze of passing motorists.

Gas and Glamour

Our spaces are shrinking with urban concrete structures sweeping over the forests and fields. We breathe recycled air in our workspaces. We live in shoe-box sized cramped dwellings with tiny windows.

I live in New Delhi where the human connection with nature is scarce and precious. We yearn to recharge our batteries and refresh our beat up souls every morning.

This coming together of man and nature as two parts of a machine, like a giant invisible clock is temporary but essential.

Orange is the new green by Niels Tichelaar is a collection of five 1/1 - An ode to autumn. The time that Green turns into Orange and other warmer shades. The time the air becomes cooler and nature becomes more colorful, The time that leaves will fall, to prepare for what is coming. A time to be close to each other, a wonderful and cozy time. The photos are taken in three different countries: Japan, Thailand, and The Netherlands in different years. At the moment of writing these shots belong to my personal favorite shots.

Orange is the new Green by Niels Tichelaar

Coastal Villages it’s an expression of the beauty and charm of small human settlements by the sea. Historically retreats for fishermen and artists in search of inspiration, these little paradises are a winning formula to take the balmy sea breeze and enjoy serene walks along the promenades.

This collection was created over the years while traveling to well known towns but also to places lost in time in search for rich history, culture and gastronomy. I was driven by the lush landscapes and captivated by the warm hospitality of the hardworking people living in these rugged regions, some dating back to the Middle Ages.

The picturesque fishermen's houses with tiled roofs linning the rocky coast and the bustling marinas offer a place to moor up or the opportunity to cast off in search of a day on the waves.

Coastline Villages

Sediments Of Life is a collection dedicated to the beauty of the Icelandic rivers when they meet the ocean after having traveled several hundred kilometers from the glaciers from which they take their sources. On their way, the rivers collect various sediments and minerals which mix at the end of the course and create incredible colors as well as magnificent abstract forms. This 1/1 collection is the first about abstract landscapes. Collectors of this first collection will be automatically whitelisted for the future collections dropping on Sloika.

Sediment Of Life by Kevin Pages

This series reflects on how a moment of time can change everything. These video's started with capturing the flow of water, frozen in time, as the flow collides with another stream of water. Just over a year ago I had an injury which stopped the flow of my life, leaving me frozen in time with limited mobility. As I slowly recover, I began to think about how to create new art with my current images and then it came to me. I then decided to give the images the ability to flow again through animation. This series represents the beginning of my journey back to my own mobility.

Unfrozen Flow

The photo edition represents the most suggestive part of the Venice carnival, the masks and costumes parading around its squares and narrow alleys.

Have visited the Venice carnival during the last ten editions, mainly for a photographic purpose, but also to enjoy the atmosphere, the colors, the lights.

During these years have tried to take different approaches to keep all fresh and not repetitive, exploring the feast in different ways and trying to show even the behind the scenes.

I’m still working on this last aspect, wanting to represent the artisans behind the costumes and masks, all the work needed to create these beautiful pieces.

Once the edition will be sold out, I’ll randomly pick a winner among the collectors and send a 1/1 portrait related to the Venice carnival.
