Legends call Kashmir “Heaven on Earth”and they are not wrong when they say this. A Layer of Life is a series of images taken at a saffron field in Kashmir. The pictures, starring the sun and an old maple tree, seek to stir the soul and teleport us to a barren land hiding under a layer of snow. The images take a minimalistic approach, limited largely to hues of blue, black and white, with the occasional subject in red. As a result, we are left with a breathtaking view of a remote and secluded field in the northernmost reaches of India.
