I’ve walked many miles through the Yosemite Valley, along the banks of the Merced, always in awe of the magic around me. I am drawn to the water that flows here. “Along the Merced” is a collection of ten photographs dedicated to the calm and pure joy I have harnessed from this little river that flows so far west from me, cutting through granite giants, wrapped around towering pines. It is an inspiring place; one I think of often.
Each visit to this beautiful park is different but fall and winter will forever be the most special to me. In the fall, the water is silent and still, and you can watch the reflections take eternal shape, surrounded by golden leaves. In the winter, the water rages dark through a monochrome white wonderland. I chose these photographs, taken during my two favorite seasons, to share the magic I have discovered here, hoping others will understand what I must have felt in the moment.
I often forget about the world, Along the Merced.
