Frost Flowers

Typically in November, the lakes in the Canadian Rockies begin to freeze over. There is a short window of time where snow falls, blanketing the surrounding landscape but does not yet cover the lakes. Photographing these conditions with open water always provides unique compositions such as in this image where frost flowers have started to appear along the lake edge. Bow Lake, Alberta, Canada.
