Their peaceful life surrounded by unspoiled nature is mesmerizing. It's no surprise that Inle Lake is called the Asian Venice. The place is a must see when you come to Myanmar. They call themselves Intha which means ‘Children of the Lake.' They build stilt houses on water, grow vegetables on floating gardens, and fish in a traditional way, unchanged for the last eight centuries. They balance on one leg and weave fabrics for sarongs and dresses using fibers of lotus, a symbol of purity of mind.
